Sri Lanka Navy assists the repatriation of 126 Indian fishermen

Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to repatriate 126 Indian fishermen on 13th November 2015. They were released from Sri Lankan custody in response to a request made by the Indian Government

As a result, 78 Indian fishermen were provided with safe passage onboard Sri Lanka Navy’s Landing Craft Utility, L 820 and Sri Lanka Coast Guard Vessel CG 45. They were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship Sagar at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) North of Kankasanthurai. 48 Indian fishermen were safely transferred onboard Sri Lanka Navy’s Fast Gun Boat, SLNS Ranarisi. They were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship Raj Kamal at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) North West of Mannar.
