Navy arrests four persons with Gelignite Sticks and 16 kg of illegally caught fish
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba in Mannar arrested three persons along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy and 4 numbers of Gelignite Sticks (approx. weight 100g each) while carrying for illegal fishing in the general area of South-bar III in Mannar on 22^nd March 2016. The arrested persons along with the items were handed over to the Mannar Police for further investigation.

On the same day, naval personnel attached to SLNS Lankapatuna arrested a local fisherman along with an FGD and 16 kilograms of illegally caught fish using explosive in the seas off Lankapatuna. The arrested persons with the items were handed over to the Serunuwara Police for onward action.
