Navy apprehends four local fishermen engaged in Bottom Trawling

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Thammana in Thalaimannar belonging to the North Central Naval Command, arrested 4 fishermen engaged in Bottom Trawling in the seas off Thalaimannar yesterday (9). Along with the suspects 2 trawlers and 3 banned fishing nets were also taken into custody.

The arrested persons and the belongings were handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries and Aquatic Resource in Mannar for further investigations.
