Commander of the Navy participates in the National Ceremony for Commemoration of War Heroes
 

18th of May marks the seventh year of the eradication of terrorism which scourged the motherland over three decades causing lots of adversities to Sri Lanka and its people. In respect to that a commemoration ceremony was held at the War Heroes’ Monument at the Parliament Grounds to commemorate the war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for motherland, under the patronage of His Excellency the President Maithreepala Sirisena.

The ceremony in which His Excellency the President laying a floral wreath at the War Hero Monument, was graced by a host of dignitaries including the Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe, State Ministers, Members of Parliament, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Gagan  Bulathsinghala, Inspector General of Police, Pujith Jayasundara, Chairperson Ranaviru Swva Authority Mrs. Anoma Fonseka and senior officers from the tri-forces and Police.
