Navy renders assistance to Indian fishermen in distress
 

Naval personnel onboard Inshore Patrol Craft attached to Northern Naval Command rendered assistance to an Indian fishing dhow with 5 fishermen in distress in Sri Lankan waters yesterday (23).

The dhow had experienced an engine failure while in the seas off Thondaimannar when the naval personnel reached the location. Subsequently the Indian dhow was escorted to the Kankasanthrurai Harbour and the Indian fishermen were produced to Jaffna Additional Directorate of Fisheries for further action.
