Naval personnel nab six local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Walagamba located in Kuchchaveli in Eastern Naval Command arrested six local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing activities in the seas off Kokilai and Kallarawa yesterday (1). During the arrest, 2 Fiber Glass Dinghies, 2 monofilament nets and a diving mask were taken into naval custody.

The arrested fishermen and the items were handed over to Kuchchaveli Police for onward action.
