Navy arrests 4 persons engaged in harvesting of sea cucumbers without licence
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Welusumana located in Mandaitivu in the Northern Naval Area arrested 4 persons while harvesting sea cucumbers, without authorized licence, in seas off Mandaitivu and Kalmunai Point yesterday (14). Along with the suspects 18 sea cucumbers, 04 diving masks and 4 pairs of diving fins were taken into naval custody. The arrested persons and items were handed over to the Jaffna Fisheries Inspector for onward legal action.
