Navy apprehends 19 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gotabhaya located in Mullaitivu in the Eastern Naval Command arrested 19 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using monofilament nets in the seas off Kokkuthuduwai today (2).

Along with the suspects; 4 Fiber Glass Dinghies and 3 Monofilament nets were taken into naval custody. The apprehended persons and belongings were produced to Mullaitivu Fisheries Inspector for further investigations.
