Two local fishermen were apprehended by Navy for illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Buwaneka located in Nachchikuda in North Central Naval Command apprehended 2 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing practices using monofilament nets in the sea area of Wediththalathive today (25). Along with the suspects a dinghy, a GPS unit and an unauthorized fishing net were also taken into naval custody.

The apprehended persons and items were handed over to the Mannar Fisheries Inspector for further action.
