Equipment used for brewing illicit liquor is seized
 

On receipt of information, naval personnel attached SLNS Thambapanni located in Puttalam in the North Western Naval Command, seized a set of equipment used to distil illicit liquor in Pinkattiya area yesterday (4).

During the raid which was carried out in coordination with Chilaw Police, naval personnel managed to recover 1,600 litres of goda, 22 plastic cans of 50 litres and 20 barrels which were used for the storage of liquor and 10 gas cylinders. The confiscated items were handed over to Chilaw Police for further investigations.
