Artists who performed in the Buddhist Cantata “Pirinivan Mangalya” felicitated
 

Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the artists who took part in Maestro Premasiri Khemadasa’s Buddhist Cantata “Pirinivan Mangalya” held at Nelum Pokuna Theatre on 25th August 2016 with the patronage of Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe , were feted at a grand felicitation ceremony at the Light House Galley last evening (22). The ceremony in which the artists of “Pirinivan Mangalya” received certificates in appreciation of their excellent aesthetic performance, was graced by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe as the Chief Guest.

Accordingly, the vocalists and instrumentalists of “Pirinivan Mangalya” received their certificates from the Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, Director General Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Rear Admiral Wasantha Fernando, Director General Procurement and Service, Rear Admiral Chandana Kulasekara, Acting Director General Civil Engineering, Susila Senadheera, Mrs. Gayathri Khemadasa and veteran actress Mrs. Anoja Weerasinghe. Director of Music, Commodore Jude Peiris, Captain Damian Fernando, instrumentalists and vocalists of both the Navy and Khemadasa Foundation were among the performers who were felicitated in the evening. The occasion was attended by Director Generals and a large number of senior officers, and officers of the Navy.
