Navy apprehends 3 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba located in Mannar in the North Central Naval Command arrested 3 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using monofilament nets in the seas off Kondampiddi today (4).

Along with the suspects, a Fibre Glass Dinghy and monofilament net were taken into naval custody. The apprehended persons and belongings were handed over to the Mannar Assistant Directorate of Fisheries in for further investigations.
