SLNS ‘Sayura’ and SLNS ‘Suranimala’ on a training visit to India
 

The Offshore Patrol Vessel SLNS ‘Sayura’ and Fast Missile Vessel SLNS ‘Suranimala’ of the Sri Lanka Navy, which are on a training and goodwill visit from 22nd to 28th October 2016, left for India from the Port of Colombo today (22). The two ships are scheduled to make their port of call at Cochin in India tomorrow (23) and take part in a series of training programmes. Three hundred and four (304) SLN personnel including twenty (20) Midshipmen undergoing their sea training, are scheduled to take part in the 07-day visit which would allow them to meet and interact with their Indian counterparts, strengthening the bilateral relations and friendship between the two friendly navies.

Moreover the SLN crew will also make familiarization visits to number of training schools in the Indian Southern Naval Command, including INS Venduruthy and INS Dronacharya and take part in a wide range of training programmes, covering a wide spectrum of activities. Further, the visit will pave the way for SLN personnel to obtain first-hand experience of the latest developments in the advanced navies of the world.
