Northern Naval Command conducts an Occupational Health and Safety improving programme and consultant doctors’ get together
 

Under the directives of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva, an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) improvement programme was held at Command Headquarters in Kankesanthurai on 1st & 2nd November 2016. Consultant in Occupational Health and Safety and Commissioner of Ministry of Labour, Dr. Wajira Palipana conducted these sessions to improve the occupational health, safety and professional standards of the Sri Lanka Navy. Being a more technical oriented service, the Navy immensely benefitted from this programme by exploring into the knowhow of the new subject scope.

Mean while a get-together for the Consultant Specialists attached to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, Point Pedro and Kilinochchi General Hospitals, was organized by the Northern Naval Command in appreciation of their service rendered towards the Navy. The function was held at Fort Hammenheil Naval Restaurant in Karainagar on 03rd November 2016. A large number of distinguished invitees participated in the event. CCL Pharmaceutical (Pvt.) Ltd had provided the co-sponsorship for this event.
