Navy renders assistance to transfer a critically ill fisherman ashore
 

The Sri Lanka Navy yesterday (11), rendered assistance to transfer a critically ill fisherman ashore, who went onboard a multiday fishing vessel named ‘Amith Putha’ from Negombo.

At the request made by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, the Navy took immediate action by sending one of its Fast Attack Craft, P 4443 to the destination, approximately 8 Nautical Miles off the seas of Colombo Harbour. The patient was then safely transferred to the naval craft and brought to the Naval Base, SLNS Rangala, and was rushed to the General Hospital, Colombo for further medical treatment.
