Navy apprehends 3 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Walagamba located in Kuchchaweli in the Eastern Naval Command arrested 3 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using explosives in the sea area off Poduwakattu yesterday (13).

Along with the fishermen; a dinghy and 50 kg of fish were also taken into naval custody. The apprehended persons, items and fish were handed over to Kuchchaweli Police for onward action
