Navy arrests a local fisherman engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Buwaneka located in Nachchikuda in the North Central Naval Command arrested a local fisherman who engaged in illegal fishing activities using a monofilament net in the coastal area of Mundampiddi yesterday (18).

Along with the fisherman; a net used for fishing practices was also taken into naval custody. The arrested person and fishing net were handed over to Puttalam Fisheries Inspector for onward action.
