Newly enlisted Naval Officers receive letters of appointment
 

Director General Personnel and Joint Chief Hydrographer to the Government of Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody gave away appointment letters to 28 newly enlisted Officer Cadets of the 59th Intake of the Sri Lanka Navy and another 27 Direct Entry Officers, in a ceremony held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium at the Naval Headquarters today (6).

Accordingly, the newly enlisted Officer Cadets joined the Naval service in the branches of Executive, Supply, Provost, Engineering, Electrical and Electronic, Patrolman while the Direct Entry Officers were enlisted to the Executive, Supply, Band and Dental branches of the Navy.

Addressing on the occasion Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody congratulated all prospective officers and reminded them to serve the motherland with utmost respect and pride whilst preserving the age old traditions of the Sri Lanka Navy. Further he advised the new group of officers to perform their duty with dignity as they are vested with a enormous responsibility being members of the armed forces. Director General Personnel also thanked the parents for giving the consent to their beloved children to serve the motherland with a noble resolve.

The occasion was also attended by Director General Training, Rear Admiral Dimuthu Gunawardena, senior officers, parents and the family members of the newly enlisted officers.
