A person apprehended for fishing lobsters by illegal means
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Thambapanni located in Puttalam in the Northwestern Naval Command together with the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resource, Chilaw apprehended a person engaged in illegal fishing of lobsters in the general are of Muthupanthiya yesterday (17).

Along with the suspect, 234 illegally caught lobsters were taken into custody. The suspect as well as the stock of lobsters was handed over to the Assistant Directorate of Fisheries in Chilaw for further investigations.
