Northern Naval Command conducts another field medical clinic at Eluvativu Island
 

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s Community Development and Social Responsibility Project, the Northern Naval Command conducted a field health clinic at the St. Thomas Catholic Church on 5th March 2017. It was held under the patronage of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva.

More than 175 personnel on Eluvativu Island were benefited from the clinic and the islanders appreciated the naval community social responsibility work on the islands of Jaffna Peninsula.

Naval medical staff provided basic treatment for acute and chronic illness, adolescent /old age health issues, child health, antenatal heath issues and women health care. Patients who needed specialized care were referred to the Teaching Hospital Jaffna. Dr. K.Maheshwari the in charge of District Hospital Analathive and primary medical care unit Eluvativu also assisted to conduct the clinic. Further, screening for chronic and non communicable diseases was also carried out to ensure early identification of such diseases. Medicine and nutritional supplements were provided free of charge by the Thriposha Lanka Ltd, State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC) and Hemas Pharmaceutical and CLC Ltd.
