An Indian fishing boat transferring thirty Myanmarese; including 16 children, 07 women and 07 men were apprehended this morning (30, April) around 10am, by a Sri Lanka Coast Guard craft on routine patrol in the Northern waters.

Navy grants compensation of one million for the family of Petty Officer YPNR Weerasinghe
The Sri Lanka Navy, yesterday (27), donated Rs. 1 million as death compensation under the Navy's healthcare insurance scheme, "Naviru Saviya," in behalf of the late Petty Office (Diver) YPNR Weerasinghe who died while following his foreign training course in India.

Initial crew get onboard SL Navy Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel in India
The Indian shipbuilding company, Goa Shipyard is currently at the completion stages of building two 105 m Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessels (AOPV) for the mission requirements of the Sri Lanka Navy. Incidentally, the Sri Lanka Navy crew who are expected to steer one of the AOPVs, have reached India in view of acclimatizing to the state of the art facilities and technologies of the ship.
