Exhibiting remarkable display of skill and creativity, Chief Petty Officer (Infantry) WPA Subasinghe brought pride to the Navy by securing top accolades at the prestigious Culinary Art Food Expo 2025 held at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo. His exceptional talent in food carving earned him a gold medal in Fruits and Vegetable Carving and a silver medal in Ice Carving.

Navy takes lead with officials and fishing communities in Trincomalee to address illegal fishing activities

The Navy hosted an awareness programme on 13 Jun 25, aimed at shedding light on the damaging effects of illegal fishing, particularly in the Eastern Province. The initiative highlighted threats to marine biodiversity, tourism and the well-being of future generation. The event was presided over by the Commander Eastern Naval Area, along with regional law enforcement authorities and leaders of local fishermen's societies.

Rear Admiral Chandima Silva was appointed the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy effective from 31 May 25. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda officially handed over the letter of appointment to Rear Admiral Chandima Silva at the Navy Headquarters on 12 Jun and extended best wishes to him in the new role.
