Marking the culmination of their basic training, 305 recruits of the Regular and 58 recruits of the Volunteer Naval Forces of the Sri Lanka Navy, marched out with pride in a vibrant passing out parade held at the main parade ground of SLNS Nipuna, Boossa on 13 Feb 26.

The Royal Navy of Oman Vessel “SADH” which arrived in Sri Lanka for replenishment purpose, departed the island on 12 Feb 26. In accordance with naval tradition, the Sri Lanka Navy extended a customary farewell to the departing ship.

Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Sagara and Nandimitra set sail on 11 Feb 26 from the Port of Colombo to Visakhapatnam, India to join the multilateral naval exercise MILAN and International Fleet Review (IFR), hosted by the Indian Navy. The 13th edition of the exercise will be conducted from 17 to 25 Feb 26 at Visakhapatnam and in the waters of the Bay of Bengal.

The Sri Lanka Navy has generated USD 598,250 in foreign exchange revenue within just four (04) months by independently facilitating Onboard Security Team (OBST) operations. This total revenue has been credited to the Government Consolidated Fund for the benefit of the national economy and public welfare. A press briefing regarding these operations was held on 11 Feb 26, at the Department of Government Information, headed by the Navy’s Director General Operations.

The Royal Navy of Oman Vessel “SADH” arrived at the Port of Colombo on a logistics replenishment visit today (10 Feb 26). The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting ship in compliance with naval traditions.

In commemoration of the 78th Independence Day, the Sri Lanka Navy organized blood donation campaigns at Base Hospital Pulmudai, Trincomalee and Batticaloa Teaching Hospital on 02 and 05 Feb 26.

Demonstrating its ongoing dedication to public welfare and community development, the Sri Lanka Navy organized an essential life-saving and first aid training for local fishermen. The training session was held at the Cod Bay Fisheries Harbour, Trincomalee on 02 Feb 26.

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) GHARIAL which made a port call in Colombo, departed the island on 06 Feb 26. The Sri Lanka Navy bade a customary farewell to the departing ship at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions.

In commemoration of the nation’s 78th Independence Day, the Sri Lanka Navy demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship and community partnership through beautification and restoration efforts across the Northern Province on 04 Feb 26.

The annual feast of St. Antony's Shrine on the Kachchativu Island in the Jaffna Peninsula is set to take place on 27 and 28 Feb 26 on a high note. In the backdrop where the District Secretary of Jaffna has made necessary arrangements for the event, the Sri Lanka Navy is currently working in full swing to establish infrastructure and facilities for the convenience of devotees.
