INS NIREEKSHAK departs concluding her training visit

The Indian Navy Ship (INS) NIREEKSHAK which arrived in Sri Lanka on a formal training visit, departed the island on 28 Apr 26, on successful completion of intended programmes. The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the outgoing ship in keeping with naval traditions at the Port of Colombo.

During the visit, the Commanding Officer INS NIREEKSHAK, Commander Sailesh Kumar Tyagi, called on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, at the Western Naval Command Headquarters.

Meanwhile, the Diving Training programme conducted by diving professionals of both the navies provided a vital platform to exchange technical expertise, share operational experiences, and enhance their collective underwater capabilities.

Beyond the technical training, the visit featured various activities designed to foster camaraderie and cultural understanding. The crew of INS NIREEKSHAK participated in a collaborative Yoga session, a friendly volleyball match, and a joint beach cleaning initiative with their Sri Lankan counterparts. Furthermore, the Indian naval personnel took the opportunity to explore several sites of cultural and historical significance on the island, further deepening the spirit of friendship and mutual respect.
