SLNS Samudura and SLNS Suranimila leave for Cochin India

Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessels, SLNS Samudura and SLNS Suranimila  left  for Cochin India from the Port of Colombo today (4) on a goodwill mission  in India.

Captain Jagath Premarathna and Captain Rohitha Abeysinghe will be the commanding officers of the ships Samudura and Suranimila respectively.

During the stay from 6th to 9th April, the visiting Sri Lankan naval personnel are scheduled to visit Indian Navigation School, ASW School, Signal School, SNOW and Gunnery School.

During the visit, the Sri Lankan naval personnel are expected to attend several friendly sports activities with the Indian Navy. Accordingly, they will compete in games of Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball with their Indian counterparts to strengthen the mutual friendship between the two navies.

The Ships are due to leave Cochin harbour on 9th April after a successful completion of tour events.
