Navy renders assistance to transfer an injured fisherman ashore for treatment
 

On information disseminated by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to transfer an injured fisherman, aboard a multiday fishing trawler, ashore today (01).

The fisherman was aboard a multiday fishing trawler ‘Ranasura V’ which went for fishing from the Mirissa fisheries harbour on 28th April and the injury was caused as a result of a fish-hook got pricked in his eye. The Navy promptly dispatched a Fast Attack Craft P 432 attached to the Southern Naval Command on the scene to transfer the injured person coastward.  

Accordingly, the naval personnel reached the trawler in the seas about 62 Nm off the Galle Light House and safely transferred the patient to the Galle harbour. Thereupon, he was rushed to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
