Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Advanced Diploma Training Programme for Technicians of Royal Navy of Oman
 

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the third batch of Advanced Diploma in Ship System Maintenance (ADSSM) training programme conducted for Technicians of the Royal Navy of Oman was held on 12th May 2017 at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee. Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Travis Sinniah graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Advanced Diploma in Ship System Maintenance (ADSSM) is a collaborative training programme conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). The third consecutive batch of ADSSM Programme comprised of 12 technicians from the Royal Navy of Oman; 6 from each Engineering and Electrical Engineering branches. All technicians were awarded with certificates of Advanced Diploma in recognition of successful completion of the training programme. Furthermore, two technicians who scored highest aggregate in academics were rewarded with special awards by the Chief Guest for their academic excellence displayed during the course.

Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Rear Admiral Kapila Samarasinghe, Deputy Area Commander, Commodore Ruwan Perera, Commodore Superintend Dockyard, Commodore Vijaj Leelarathne and a number of other senior officers inclusive of representatives from the Naval Headquarters and KDU attended this Certificate Awarding Ceremony.
