NNA extends assistance to “N-S Brotherhood Programme”
 

The Northern Naval Command donated a large consignment of materials to the Governor of the Northern Province, Hon. Reginald Cooray on 01^st June.  This meritorious act was made assisting their programme, “North-South Brotherhood”, under the able leadership of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and the guidance of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva.

The Northern Province Governor had initiated this programme to assist those battered by the adverse weather condition due to the flash floods and landslides. Accordingly, 1000 packs of dry rations and 495 water bottles of 5 liters were handed over to the Hon. Governor under the patronage of the Deputy Commander Northern Naval Area, Commodore HRP Gunawardhana. Senior officers were also present on the occasion.
