Outgoing Chief of Defence Staff honoured in farewell salute
 

On the eve of his retirement from the service, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke paid a formal courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters this morning (June,14). Upon his arrival, Air Chief Marshal Gunatilleke was awarded with a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval traditions.

During the subsequent meeting, both the Commander of the Navy and the outgoing CDS exchanged thoughts, recalled memories and shared a couple of views, recollecting the close cooperation between both officers. Thereupon, Commander of the Navy extended best wishes to the Air Chief Marshal Gunatilleke in his future endeavours. Mementoes were also exchanged to signify this event.

Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, Deputy Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro, Director Generals and a host of senior officers were also present on this occasion.
