Six suspects nabbed with a stock of Ocean White Striped Shark
 

On receipt of an intelligence tip-off to the Navy, a group of coast guard personnel recovered a catch of Ocean White Striped Shark concealed in a trawler at Beruwala Fisheries Harbour today (July, 07). The stock of this endangered species was found during a search carried out at the harbour premises by Coast Guard personnel.

Meanwhile, 6 suspects engaged in this illegal venture had also been arrested. Accordingly, the arrested suspects, trawler and the stock of fish were handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director, Kalutara for onward investigations.
