Tactical Room of the Communication School at NMA declared open
 

The Tactical Room of the Communication School at the Naval and Maritime Academy was declared open by the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Travis Sinniah, today (July, 13).

The new Tactical Room is equipped with communication facilities such as radio telephone that are essential in better acquisition of practical knowledge for the naval personnel belonging to the Communication Branch. On the other hand this particular facility can be considered as a modern unit empowered with 19 communication sets that can be utilized to practically study how radio signals are simultaneously transmitted among a fleet of ships.

The event as also attended by the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera, Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Rohitha Perera, Commodore Kassapa Paul, Officer In Charge of the Communication School, Lieutenant Commander (C) Rangana Lakmal, senior officers and sailors. To signify the importance of this occasion, the Chief Instructor of Communication School, Fleet Chief Petty Officer HMWSK Herath presented a memento to the Commander Eastern Naval Area.
