Rear Admiral Douglas Perera bids farewell to illustrious naval career
 

The Director Naval Dental Services, Rear Admiral (D) Douglas Perera bade farewell today (July, 14) to his illustrious naval career which spanned over 31 years. Upon calling on, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the outgoing Rear Admiral was accorded with a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval traditions.

Thereupon, fellow naval officers accompanied him to the portals of Naval Headquarters in a customary vehicle fleet to honour him with the final farewell salute. The senior and junior sailors also gathered on either side of the road to pay their respect to Rear Admiral Perera.

Rear Admiral Douglas Perera joined Sri Lanka Navy in 1986 as a Direct Entry officer and had rendered his noble service to the Sri Lanka Navy during his unblemished naval career.
