Navy extends hospitality to devotees of Kataragama foot pilgrimage

Sri Lanka Navy extended its warm hospitality to the devotees who toiled themselves in the traditional foot pilgrimage (Pada Yathra) from Northern Province to Kataragama Devalaya. Accordingly, under the guidance of the Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe, naval personnel attached to SLNS Mahanaga located in Panama looked into the amenities of the pilgrimers. The naval hospitality extension initiated on 15th July is to be continued until 02nd August.

As part of the Navy’s gesture of generosity, the pilgrimers were provided with all necessary facilities including bottles of drinking water, food, dry ration and medical facilities, as they are engaging in a strenuous journey across the country.
