PLAN hospital ship ‘Hepingfangshu’ (Ark Peace) departs from Colombo harbour
 

The hospital ship of the People's Liberation Army Navy of China, ‘Hepingfangzhou’ that arrived in Sri Lanka on 06th August on a goodwill visit, left for her next port of call from the Colombo harbour today (09, August). Sri Lanka Navy bade farewell to the outgoing ship in compliance with naval customs.

During the four day visit in Sri Lanka, the ship’s crew of Ark Peace took part in a number of programmes partnering with the Sri Lanka Navy. As part of the range of programmes executed, the doctors and medical personnel of Sri Lanka Navy conducted several humanitarian response exercises and a medical camp onboard ship. Government medical officers, senior officers from the tri-services, sailors and a group of medical students also joined the events.
