Navy bids farewell to Rear Admiral EW Jayasinghe
 

The Director Naval Medical Services, Surgeon Rear Admiral EW Jayasinghe bade adieu to the Sri Lanka Navy today (04th September2017).

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah along with Director Generals of the Navy extended best wishes to Rear Admiral Jayasinghe who is celebrating his 60th birthday today. Subsequently, the senior officer, who retired on completion of 32 years of illustrious naval career, was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. The fellow naval officers and sailors, making a street line, bade farewell to the retiring senior officer in gratitude to the exceptional service rendered for the Navy. Thereupon, Rear Admiral Jayasinghe was sent off mounted on a decorated vehicle amidst the cheers wishing him fair winds and following seas.

Rear Admiral EW Jayasinghe joined the Sri Lanka Navy as a Direct Entry officer in 1985. He held a number of key appointments in the Navy his unblemished naval career.
