Sri Lanka – Pakistan Navy staff talks take naval relations to new highs
 

The inaugural staff talks between the Sri Lanka and Pakistan navies held at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo yesterday (18 September 2017).

The Sri Lanka Navy delegation comprised of 10 officers was headed by the Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva. Meanwhile, the 5 member Pakistani delegation was led by Commodore Masood Kurshid.

The staff talks affirmed commitment to enhance navy to navy engagement in the fields of operational collaboration, training, military exchanges and defence cooperation. Mementoes were exchange to mark the significance of the event. Meanwhile, both navies pledged their commitment to hold similar discussions annually henceforth. Accordingly, the next round of staff talks is scheduled to be held in Pakistan next year (2018).
