Preventive medicine and casualty care training comes to successful end in Welisara
 

The training module on Preventive Medicine and Casualty Care came to a successful end today (22 September 2017) in Welisara. Director Naval Land Operations, Commodore Udeni Serasinghe, as the Chief Guest, graced the closing ceremony of this training engagement which commenced on 11th of this month. The initiative was hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy in collaboration with the US Marine Corps Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC).

The twelve-day training programme consisted of two modules, Train the Trainer and Tactical Combat Casualty Care Training. Further, this training engagement aimed at better enhancement of causality care and patient care during mass casualty, humanitarian assistance, disaster response and other emergencies.

Seventy (70) SLN personnel belonging to the Marine Battalion, Special Boat Squadron, Rapid Action Boat Squadron and Medical Branch took part in the training programme which was also attended by a team of personnel of the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services (IAFMS) at the invitation of the Sri Lanka Navy.
