Foreign delegates from 7 countries hold bilateral discussions with Commander of the Navy
Foreign delegates from 7 countries along with representatives of international organizations attending the Galle Dialogue 2017 held bilateral discussions with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo this morning (10 October 2017). Accordingly, delegates from France, Italy, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Switzerland and Seychelles called on the Commander of the Navy and exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest.
Among the high ranking officials who met with Vice Admiral Sinniah were Joint Commander of the French Forces, Rear Admiral Didier Piaton, the Operations and Maritime Strategy Department of Italy, Senior Captain Silvio Vratogna, Vice Chief of Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, Vice Admiral Karmbir Singh, Vice Admiral Satish Soni (Retd.) from the United Service Institution of India, Commander Coastal Area of Pakistan, Rear Admiral Abdul Aleem, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Logistics) of the Bangladesh Navy, Rear Admiral Mohammad Lokmanur Rahman, Switzerland Defence Attaché in India, Colonel Christof Gertsch and Commander of the Seychelles Coast Guard, Colonel Simon Dine.
The Commander of the Navy expressed his gratitude to the officials for taking part in this year’s conference, extending unanimous consent to avert increasing dangers in the maritime domain. Mementoes were also exchanged to mark the significance of the occasion.
