08 Clearance Diving Officers pass out on successful completion of their strenuous training
 

On completion of 3 months of strenuous training, 8 Clearance Diving Officers (CDOs) of the Sri Lanka Navy passed out on 13 October 2017 at the Diving School of the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee. The Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore KG Paul attended the Passing Out and Insignia Investiture Ceremony as the chief guest. Lieutenant RG Hewage received the award for the Best Diving Officer.

During the highly demanding CDO course, which was conducted for the second successive time, the participants were able to master the much-needed skill of integrating theory and practical knowledge related to Combat Diving with Closed Circuit, Surfaced Supply Diving, SCUBA Open Circuit Diving, Night Diving, Compass Diving, Underwater Demolition and Handling of Sea Mines and EODs, Underwater Sea Bottom Search, Underwater Ship Bottom Search and Recompression Chamber (RCC). They also successfully completed 180-foot deep diving as well.
