US Nimitz Carrier Strike Group departs from Colombo harbour
 

TheUS Navy Nimitz Carrier Strike Group which arrived in Sri Lanka on 28th of this month left from the Colombo harbour today (31st October) on successful completion of its official four day visit. The US Carrier Strike Group comprised of USS Nimitz, the cruiser USS Princeton, and destroyers USS Howard, USS Shoup, USS Pinckney and USS Kidd.

Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ships in accordance with naval traditions. During their stay in the country, the crew members of the ships took part in friendly sports events and several other programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy.
