Sri Lanka Navy apprehends 13 Indian fishermen for poaching in Sri Lankan territorial waters
 

Naval personnel on board a Fast Attack Craft attached to the Northern Naval Command on routine patrol apprehended 13 Indian fishermen along with 03 fishing trawlers for poaching in the Sri Lankan territorial waters north and west of Delft island in the early hours today (02 November 2017). 

The arrested fishermen were brought to the naval base SLNS Uttara in Kankesanthurai and subsequently handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director of Jaffna for legal action. The seized trawlers and fishing gear were retained at SLNS Elara in Karainagar.
