Commander of the Navy pays homage to Sacred Tooth Relic
 

Having assumed duties as the 22nd Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy yesterday (04th November 2017). He was received by the Diyawadana Nilame, Mr. Pradeep Nilanga Dela. The Navy Commander made his remarks in the visitors’ book and they exchanged memento after the cordial discussions.

Thereupon, Vice Admiral Ranasinghe called on the Mahanayaka of the Ramanna Maha Nikaya, Most Venerable Napana Premasiri Thero, the Anunayaka Thero of the Asgiriya Chapter and the Chief Prelate of Muthiyangana Raja Maha Viharaya, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero and Mahanayake Thero of the Malwatta Chapter, Most Reverend Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero.

The Mahanayakes invoked the blessings of the Triple Gem on the new Navy Commander and delivered brief Anushasanas wishing him strength and courage to carry out the duties entrusted to him. The Navy Commander, paying obeisance to the Mahanayakes, offered Atapirikaras to the Maha Sangha as well. Vice Admiral Ranasinghe was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Sandya Ranasinghe, daughter Supuni Ranasinghe, Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle and several senior officers during this visit.
