Commander of the Navy pays courtesy call on Commander of the Air Force
 

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy at the Air Force Headquarters in Colombo today (23 November). The Navy Commander was accorded a Guard of Honour on his arrival at the premises. This also turned out to be the first official meeting between the top military brass subsequent to the appointment of Vice Admiral Ranasinghe as the Commander of the Navy.

The Commander of the Air Force conveyed his best wishes to Vice Admiral Ranasinghe on his new appointment and assured his fullest assistance to the Navy Commander’s endeavours during his tenure. The occasion was attended by a group of senior officers including the Director Generals of the Air Force. Mementos were also exchanged by the two commanders to mark the occasion symbolizing comradeship and goodwill.
