Thirty three (33) Basic Combat Divers pass out after successful completion of training in Trincomalee
 

On successful completion of their strenuous training, 33 Basic Combat Divers belonging to the tri-services passed out yesterday (24 November) in Trincomalee. The training programme was conducted by the Diving School of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) and the Commandant NMA, Commodore Kassapa Paul graced the passing out ceremony as the Chief Guest.

Leading Seaman DCA Kumara from the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) received the award for the Best Diver of the course. During the ceremony, the Chief Guest pinned insignia on course participants who successfully completed this arduous training. Members from the Navy’s SBS, Special Forces of the Army and Air Force and Commando Regiment followed the Basic Combat Diving course which lasted for 3 months imparting much-needed theoretical and practical knowledge related to Basic Combat Diving.
