Navy renders assistance to transfer Vietnamese national ashore for treatment
 

In response to a distress call from a Vietnamese Container Ship “ Thai Binh Bay” Sri Lanka Navy promptly rendered assistance to transfer a wounded mariner onboard ship, ashore for treatment this morning ( 11 December).

Alerted by information of this injured mariner, the Fast Attack Craft P 464 attached to the Western Naval Command was swiftly dispatched to the location of the Container Ship.

Accordingly, the naval personnel reached the vessel in the seas 8.5 nautical miles off Colombo Lighthouse and safely transferred the patient to the Colombo harbour. Thereafter, the patient was rushed to the Navaloka Hospital for medical treatment.
