Person apprehended for possessing live turtle
 

Based on a tip off to the Navy, naval troops attached to the Northern Naval Command together with officials of the Pooneryn Police nabbed a person for possessing a live sea turtle weighing 15 kg, during a search conducted in Pallikuda area, Kilinochchi yesterday (03 January).

The apprehended suspect along with the turtle was handed over to the Pooneryn Police for onward legal action.
