Navy foils gold smuggling attempt into India, two suspects apprehended with 600 g of gold
 

On receipt of information to the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command apprehended two persons with 600 g of gold in the general area of Pesalai yesterday (10 January). The suspects were attempting to smuggle said consignment of gold into India via sea.

The six pieces of gold, each weighing 100g, had been taken to the above location by a three-wheeler. The apprehended suspects along with seized gold and three-wheeler were handed over to the Pesalai Police for onward legal action.
