Rear Admiral Nihal Fernando bids adieu to Navy
 

The Director General Logistics, Rear Admiral Nihal Fernando bade farewell to his 32-year-long illustrious naval career today (30 January). The Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro along with Director Generals of the Navy extended best wishes to the retiring officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today.

Thereupon, Rear Admiral Nihal Fernando was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. After the fellow naval officers made their formal farewells to the retiring senior officer, the senior and junior sailors, making a street line, bade farewell to Rear Admiral Fernando who was sent off mounted on a decorated vehicle amidst cheers.

Rear Admiral Nihal Fernando joined Sri Lanka Navy as an officer of the 03rd intake of Kotelawala Defence University in 1985. He rendered a noble service to the Navy holding a number of key appointments in the Logistics Branch.
