Trinco Dialogue Maritime Symposium-2018
 

“Trinco Dialogue” Maritime Symposium is an annual event of Junior Naval Staff College conducted within the purview of Eastern Naval Command. In this forum the Student Officers of the Junior Naval Staff College (JNSC) discuss, deliberate and broaden their knowledge in maritime affairs. This year, the seventh edition of the symposium was successfully conducted on 6th February 2018 at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium, Trincomalee. The Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera graced the event as the Chief Guest.

‘Trinco Dialogue 2018’ was organized by the Directing Staff of Junior Naval Staff College and the Student Officers of JNSC No 21 under the astute guidance of the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore Kassapa Paul. The symposium unfolded under the theme of ‘Trincomalee Harbour: a potential gateway to drive Navy’s Maritime Strategy 2025’. In this endeavour Prof. WI Siriweera, Chairman, National Education Commission and Mr. AMSP Arampath, Deputy Harbour Master, Trincomalee Harbour were invited as Guest Speakers to enlighten the audience. Five Student Offices of 21st JNSC also presented their research papers.

Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Command Commodore Meril Sudarshana, Flag rank officers, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Directing Staff and the Student Officers of Junior Command and Staff Course-Sri Lanka Air Force China Bay, cross section of Junior Officers and Officer Under Trainees also attended to witness the symposium. The conduct of event and JNSC Student Officers’ performances during the symposium were highly appreciated by the invited dignitaries, guests and other participants.
