Navy renders assistance to bring injured fisherman ashore for treatment
 

Sri Lanka Navy promptly rendered assistance to transfer a fisherman who was distressed at sea by an injury, ashore for treatment yesterday (02nd March). The patient was onboard the multiday trawler “Victoriya 4” which has left Beruwela fisheries harbour for fishing.

Accordingly, the P 480 Fast Attack Craft attached to SLNS Dakshina was dispatched to the location, 19 nautical miles Galle Lighthouse, to bring the injured person. The injured sailor was administered first aid while onboard the naval craft before he was safely brought to the Galle harbour. Subsequently, he was rushed to the Teaching Hospital in Karapitiya for further treatment.
