Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kelani on 16 March rendered assistance to remove a large portion of the banyan tree that was leaning dangerously across Hamilton Canal, Elakanda posing greater problems to the community.

A workshop organized for the first time by Sri Lanka Navy Media, to hone compering skills of naval personnel, came to a successful end on 17th March.

Navy apprehended 11 persons engaged in illegal acts at several locations in the island during the past few days.
